FARM MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

The Farm Manager will be responsible for all matters related to agriculture, maintenance, and enterprise operations. The Farm Manager will also engage with the farm owner to develop and institute land management practices on the farm with an emphasis on resiliency and sustainability.

    Travel

    • Must be able to travel locally or regionally to conduct farm business.

    • Possess a valid drivers license.

  • Requirements:

    • Honest and forthright.

    • Self-starter, self-disciplined, goal orientated.

    • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.

    • Tractor and other mowing machinery experience.

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Additional qualities desired:

    • Family-friendly and mature attitude.

    • Warm and friendly to the wide variety of farm visitors. 

    • Creativity around resource use, reduction of waste-streams, and problem-solving.

    • Eagerness to learn and apply principles of regenerative agriculture consistent with mission.

    • Willingness to live on-site.

    • Understanding of ecological processes and systems.

    • Good organizational skills.

    • Good communications skills using pda phone and computer email services.

  • Salary and benefits:

    • Pay will be fair and adequate, compensation commensurate with experience. Pay rates starting at $18/hr. 

    • Harvest sharing of food for consumption. 

    • Enterprise opportunities available to develop independent or joint ventures. Use of farmland/equipment available. We would like to help the farm manager achieve their enterprise goals.
